Gamecocks grab 44 votes for AP top 25, Clemson up to #3

After beating NC State, a team many coaches thought would challenge Florida State and Clemson in the ACC Atlantic division, the Gamecocks garnered 44 votes to be in this week's top 25 AP Poll. It marks the first time Carolina has received votes in the Will Muschamp era.

(5) Clemson opens season with 56-3 win over Kent State

The defending National Champion and fifth-ranked Clemson Tigers opened the 2017 season with a win on Saturday in Death Valley, defeating the Kent State Golden Flashes 56-3 in the teams’ first meeting. The 56 points were the most the Tigers scored in a season opener since 1990. With the win, the Tigers moved to 1-0 on the season, while the Golden Flashes fell to 0-1.
