Morris Officially Accepts SMU Job

Chad Morris, Clemson offensive coordinator the last four years, has been named Head Football Coach at Southern Methodist University. Morris had been in charge of the Clemson offense since 2011 and helped the program to a 41-11 record, including 27 wins against ACC opposition. The Clemson offense established 127 school records during his time with the program, 89 individual marks and 38 team records.

Clemson Tight End To Miss Bowl Game

Clemson reserve tight end Stanton Seckinger suffered a knee injury to a PCL in the South Carolina game last Saturday. The injury will require surgery and he will not play in Clemson’s bowl game.

Three Tigers Earn 1st Team All-ACC Honors

Clemson defensive players Vic Beasley, Grady Jarrett and Stephone Anthony all were named first-team All-ACC according by the ACC Sports Media Association on Monday. It is the first time since 2010 that Clemson has had three first-team selections on the defensive side of the ball.

Two Tigers Earn ACC Weekly Honors

Clemson defensive end Vic Beasley and offensive tackle Kalon Davis were both honored for their respective performances in the Tigers 35-17 victory over South Carolina last Saturday. Beasley was named ACC Defensive Lineman of the Week and Davis was named co Offensive Lineman of the Week.

Tar Heels Take Out Tigers In Sweet 16

The Clemson men’s soccer team saw its season come to a close at the hands of North Carolina by a score of 2-1 in the Round of 16 of the NCAA Tournament on Sunday night at Historic Riggs Field. Tonight’s loss is Clemson’s first since October 7, the Tigers were on a 10 match unbeaten streak coming into tonight’s contest. Clemson finishes the season with a record of 12-7-3.

SMU To Introduce Chad Morris Monday

A person familiar with SMU's decision tells The Associated Press that Clemson offensive coordinator Chad Morris will be the Mustangs' new football coach. The person spoke on condition of anonymity Sunday because the school had a news conference planned Monday to introduce the new head coach.

Beasley Finalist For Bednarik Award

Clemson defensive end Vic Beasley has been named one of three finalists for the Chuck Bednarik Award. The honor goes each year to the top defensive player in college football and is presented by the Maxwell Football Club of Philadelphia. Beasley is joined by Joey Bosa, a defensive end from Ohio State and Scooby Wright, a linebacker from Arizona. This is the second award that Beasley has been named a finalist. Last week he was named one of four finalists for the Lombardi Award, which goes to the top offensive or defensive lineman in college football.

Ward Preparing For Both Clemson QBs

USC defensive coordinator Lorenzo Ward has to prepare his unit for two different types of quarterbacks that Clemson may use on Saturday. “You have to be concerned with (Deshaun) Watson because he can run the football,” Ward said after Tuesday's practice. “Not that they won’t run it with (Cole) Stoudt. I think he’ll run the ball some too, but they’ll run it a lot more with Watson playing quarterback.”

USC Depending On Defense In Clemson Game

Clemson Soccer Edges Coastal 2-1

The seventh-seeded Clemson men’s soccer team edged No. 25 Coastal Carolina 2-1 Monday night in the second round of the NCAA Tournament at Historic Riggs Field. The Tigers advance to the Round of 16 for the first time since 2006 and for the 23rd time in program history. Tonight’s win was the first NCAA Tournament win for Clemson since 2006. Clemson faces North Carolina at Historic Riggs Field on Sunday, Nov. 30. Clemson improved to 12-6-3 on the season with the win.

Clemson Edges LSU 64-61

Trailing 56-52 at the under-four media timeout, Clemson rallied for a 64-61 triumph over LSU to win the fourth place game at the Paradise Jam in the U.S. Virgin Islands. The ACC’s Tigers improved to 3-2 overall and went 2-1 in the event, while LSU fell to 3-2, leaving the tournament with a 1-2 mark.

Clemson-Coastal Postponed To Monday

Tonight’s men’s soccer match between No. 7 Clemson and No. 25 Coastal Carolina in the second round of the NCAA Tournament has been postponed due to inclement weather and unplayable field conditions. The match has been rescheduled for Monday night, Nov. 24, at 6 p.m. at Historic Riggs Field.
