The facility is set for completion in October of next year. Wednesday afternoon, Governor Henry McMaster and state healthcare leaders signed a construction beam that is now part of the new building.
“We provide counseling services, which can be individual therapy services, we can do crisis intervention services if there’s a need for that. We can do psychiatric medical assessments for anybody that needs to see our psychiatrist or psychiatric nurse practitioner. We also can provide nursing services for any of our patients,” says Beaton.

The National Alliance on Mental Health (NAMI) is spreading awareness this week by sharing resources that can help those in a crisis.
She encourages everyone to not be afraid in asking someone if they’re having suicidal thoughts. “We care for the people that we’re asking that question to. So it can be a little intimidating or unsure of what to do afterwards, and the biggest thing you can do is listen, give them support, help that person know they’re not alone, and connect that person to care,” Barnes says.
