The South Carolina Department of Transportation is preparing for any possible winter weather this week.
SC DOT says they will continue to prepare and monitor the weather. In parts of the state where potential impacts are expected, especially in the Upstate, transportation crews may be out spraying salt brine or salting the roadways.

“We do encourage customers to keep their thermostat as close to 68 degrees as possible. That’s kind of a sweet spot, that helps with your energy consumption, and limit it from maybe spiking quite as much as if your thermostat is up in the low 70’s,” says Long.
