Officials: Infant surrendered under Daniel’s Law
Richland Co., S.C. (WOLO)– Officials at Prisma Health Richland say they accepted an infant surrendered under Daniel’s Law Thursday.
The SC Safe Haven for Abandoned Babies Act provides a safe, legal option to surrender infants up to 60 days old at certain locations such as hospitals and fire departments.
Officials say the baby was born January 31st and weighed 7 lbs. at the time of birth.
A Prisma spokesperson says the Williamsburg County DSS office will take custody of the infant.
