Cops: Teens go on spending spree after $37K theft

LEXINGTON, S.C. (AP) — Lexington County deputies say three teens who stole $37,000 from a Chapin home used the cash to buy a dirt bike, video games and a gun.
Investigators said two 16-year-old boys and a 15-year-old boy were arrested Monday and charged with first-degree burglary.
Deputies say the teens took the money from a lock box inside a home on July 24.
Investigators say the 15-year-old boy bought a .38-caliber revolver, while one of the 16-year-old boys bought a dirt bike and several accessories as well as two Xbox games.
Deputies say they found $4,000 in cash in a briefcase in one of the teen’s bedrooms.
