COLUMBIA, SC (WOLO) — Sarah Kay Wrenn, Miss Lake Murray, was crowned Miss South Carolina 2025 Saturday evening at the historic Township Auditorium in Columbia. Wrenn will receive a $60,000 scholarship and will advance to the Miss America competition in September.

A 24-year-old Columbia native and Clemson University magna cum laude graduate, Wrenn captivated the judges with a powerful lyrical dance performance to “This Is Me” from The Greatest Showman.

She currently serves as Director of School Engagement for the American Heart Association, where she has raised over $293,000 for youth health programs and trained more than 5,000 students in lifesaving CPR and AED skills.

Wrenn’s Community Service Initiative, “Heart Strong: Empowering the Next Generation of Lifesavers,” focuses on increasing CPR education and heart health awareness among youth. Her passion stems from both professional experience and personal motivation, including the recent loss of a close family friend.

In her year of service, Wrenn will promote heart health education across South Carolina, advocate for the #MissAmericaFit movement through her love of running and fitness, and prepare to represent the Palmetto State at the national level.

Four additional delegates rounded out this year’s top five, with all receiving scholarships for their top five placement:

  • First Runner-Up – Rachel Carter, Miss Greenville County
  • Second Runner-Up – Mary Kimball Osborn, Miss Greater Carolina
  • Third Runner-Up – Jordyn Lewis, Miss Simpsonville
  • Fourth Runner-Up – Jules Lemonds, Miss Hartsville

Founded in 1936, the Miss South Carolina Scholarship Organization is one of the largest providers of scholarships to young women in the state. 2025 Miss and Teen delegates will compete for more than $275,000 in scholarships.

The Miss South Carolina Scholarship Organization operates within the guidelines of the Miss America Opportunity while stressing individuality, personal development, communication skills and physical and mental health.
