2025 Human Trafficking in the Carolinas Conference underway in Columbia

COLUMBIA, SC (WOLO)– Law Enforcement, advocates, and survivors of human trafficking, from across the Carolinas, are gathering in the Midlands this week.
A conference is taking place at the Marriott in downtown Columbia.
Organizers say session topics, over two days, will cover prevention, trauma-informed responses, online exploitation, and the role of regional coordination.
Those we spoke with say coordination is critical when combating human trafficking.

According to the SC Attorney General’s Office, there were close to 400 victims of human trafficking in South Carolina last year.
