Columbia PD says victim shot by relative at Vista Towers Apts. has died

According to the Columbia Police Department, officers investigated a shooting incident at 927 Vista Towers Drive around 1 p.m. on Sunday.

COLUMBIA, SC (WOLO) — According to the Columbia Police Department, officers investigated a shooting incident at 927 Vista Towers Drive around 1 p.m. on Sunday.

Officers say a man was injured and taken to a local hospital by EMS.

The victim’s relative, 18-year-old Kai Murray, was arrested and is being charged with murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime.

Murray’s motive remains unknown.

At around 8 p.m., the Columbia PD reports that the victim has died from his injuries.

Murray is being held at the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center.
