Officials: Beaver Dam has stabilized

COLUMBIA, SC (WOLO)– Beaver Dam has now stabilized, but Officials say they will continue to monitor it. Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott said it is safe for residents to return home, there is no immediate danger. Crews filled the sinkhole with roughly 20 truck loads of rocks. Officials said by mid-Wednesday morning it was stabilized. Early Wednesday morning, Richland officials urged residents around Beaver Dam and Pebble Creek Rds IMMEDIATELY seek shelter & move to higher ground. Officials with Richland County said around 7am the Dam was at a critical point. Residents who did leave were able to seek shelter at AC Flora High School. Again, Beaver Dam is now stabilized.
