USC Rallies To Avoid 3-Game Losing Skid
The South Carolina Gamecocks (2-2) rallied for a 61-57 victory over Mississippi Valley State (0-4) on Tuesday night at Colonial Life Arena competing in the second game of the Continental Tire Las Vegas Invitational. Senior forward Malik Cooke led the Gamecocks with 18 points, and freshman guard Damien Leonard scored a career-high 16 points for the Gamecocks.

Gamecocks Fall to Penn State 55-50
Penn State escaped Colonial Life Arena with a 55-50 victory in women’s basketball action Sunday afternoon. The Gamecocks led much of the game, including an eight-point margin in the final six minutes, before the Lady Lions’ frontcourt wore them down. Nine of junior Ashley Bruner’s career-high 18 rebounds came on the offensive end, and junior Ieasia Walker added 15 points and five steals to the Gamecocks’ solid team effort.
