The Southeastern Conference matched its record with seven teams among 16 regional hosts announced Sunday for the NCAA baseball tournament.
The Gamecocks will learn tomorrow at noon that three other teams will be playing in this regional, and what seed they will take into the postseason.
South Carolina is the first program to have back-to-back finalists since 2004-05 (Baylor).
Hall is the first individual to compete in the national finals under head coach Bill McDonald in his 14 seasons at the helm. He’s the fourth all-time at Carolina to play as individual at NCAA finals.
Boston is the first First-Team Academic All-American in Gamecock women’s basketball history and the program’s third selection all-time (Martha Parker, 1989 third team; Tiffany Mitchell, 2016 second team).
The championship match will be an all-SEC affair as Florida’s Sam Riffice advanced out of the other semifinal match.
The Gamecocks will host Eastern Illinois University at 7 pm ET on Saturday, Sept. 4, to kick off the 2021 season.
