Greenville Police Shot at Suspect 24 Times

GREENVILLE, S.C. (AP) _ Investigators say a man shot to death last month in the parking lot of the Greenville County Law Enforcement Center threatened to kill two officers and showed them a glue gun made to look like a real firearm.

Eight Lose Jobs, Hundreds Impacted Say Lawmakers

Come February 15, nearly a dozen people employed with the State Department of Employment and Workforce (DEW) will be out of a job. Those eight folks are responsible for handling unemployment insurance claims for 17 offices, all of which are in rural areas. State lawmakers are up in arms about it because they say the job losses equal more bad news for their rural, low-income constituents.
