Ex-Dallas boot camp head charged in fraud case

SELMA, Ala. (AP) — A 51-year-old former Selma resident has been arrested at his home in Columbia, S.C. and charged in a securities fraud case with allegedly collecting money to operate a facility for troubled children in Dallas County, although District Attorney Michael Jackson said there was no evidence plans for that facility ever existed.

Fines grow for lieutenant gov hopeful Campbell

COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) — A son of the late Gov. Carroll Campbell owes nearly $380,000 in penalties to the state Ethics Commission for failing to file campaign finance reports from an unsuccessful 2006 bid for lieutenant governor.
