South Carolina head football coach Steve Spurrier and Clemson head football coach Dabo Swinney have been named to the Watch List for the 2011 Bryant Coach of the Year award.

After Clemson's 59-38 victory over North Carolina on Saturday, Tiger head coach Dabo Swinney celebrated the victory with his players by dancing in the locker room. Clemson officials have told ABC Columbia its not the first time Swinney has done this, and probably not the last.

Clemson sophomore quarterback Tajh Boyd, senior offensive tackle Landon Walker, and senior defensive end Kourtnei Brown headline a list of eight players named as the ACC Football Players of the Week.

Clemson's ACC match-up at Georgia Tech this Saturday will air on ABC Columbia at 8 p.m. Saturday. Sunday, the Tigers (8-0) moved up to #5 in the new BCS standings and senior Kourtnei Brown was named the Walter Camp National Defensive Player of the Week after scoring two touchdowns against North Carolina.

Tajh Boyd tied a school record with five touchdown passes, defensive end Kourtnei Brown scored on interception and fumble returns and Clemson improved to 8-0 for the first time in 11 years with a 59-38 victory over North Carolina on Saturday.

The editors and writers at SI.com have announced its 2011 midseason All-American team. Four Clemson Tigers and one South Carolina Gamecock represented the first and second team.

At Tuesday's weekly press conference, the Tigers addressed their new BCS ranking, but said it will not affect this week's preparation for North Carolina. Standout sophomore quarterback Tajh Boyd says last week's game at Maryland was a good reminder that the #7 Tigers can be beaten be any ACC team any given Saturday.

The time has been set for the Clemson at Georgia Tech football game to be played on Saturday, October 29 at Bobby Dodd Stadium in Atlanta, GA. The game is set to kick off at 8:00 p.m. and will be broadcast on either ABC, ESPN or ESPN2. The television network will be announced following the games of October 22.

Sunday night, the BCS released its first standings of the 2011 college football season. Clemson comes in 7th. USC is 14th. LSU edges out SEC West rival Alabama for the top spot.

Clemson quarterback Tajh Boyd said Tuesday he has been cleared to practice with the strained hip he injured against Boston College that appeared more severe than it turned out.

But Boyd had to leave the field in the third quarter with his injury, the severity of which remains unknown -- along with Boyd's status for next week at Maryland.

In this week's new polls, Clemson moves up to #8. The Gamecocks drop to #14 in the Coaches' Poll, #18 in the Associated Press Top 25.

Tajh Boyd directed another efficient offense and the Tigers' defense turned in its best effort of the season in Clemson's first road game, a 23-3 victory against No. 11 Virginia Tech on Saturday.

Both major programs in the state of South Carolina are in the top 15 of this week's college football rankings. USC is 10th in the new Associated Press poll, 9th in the Coaches' poll. Clemson rockets up eight spots to 13th in the AP poll. The Tigers are 15th in the Coaches' poll.

No. 21 Clemson knocked off a ranked opponent for the second straight week as Tajh Boyd threw for three touchdowns and ran for another in a 35-30 victory over No. 11 Florida State on Saturday.

Clemson jumped into this week's new Associated Press Top 25 college football poll at #21 after ending Auburn's 17-game winning streak Saturday. This Saturday's match-up in Death Valley against #11 Florida St. will kickoff at 3:30 on ESPN.
