BC Stops Streak, Beats Clemson 3-1

Sophomore lefthander Andrew Chin pitched a complete game two-hitter to lead Boston College to a 3-1 victory over Clemson at Doug Kingsmore Stadium on Friday night. The Eagles (22-32, 10-19 ACC) evened the series 1-1 against the Tigers (33-22, 14-14 ACC), who saw their 11-game winning streak over Boston College dating to 2010 come to an end.

Clemson Starts BC Series With 8-4 Win

Tyler Krieger, Jay Baum and Steven Duggar all hit solo homers in Clemson’s 8-4 win over Boston College at Doug Kingsmore Stadium on Thursday night. Clemson (33-21, 14-13 ACC), who earlier in the evening clinched an ACC Tournament berth by virtue of Notre Dame’s victory over Pittsburgh, took a 1-0 lead in the series over the Eagles (21-32, 9-19 ACC).

USC Tied For 3rd After Regional 1st Round

The fourth-seeded South Carolina men’s golf team shot a 286 (+6) on Thursday in the opening round of the NCAA Eugene Regional at Eugene Country Club. The Gamecocks finished the day in a tie for third place with North Florida and are 10 shots back of tournament leader Stanford. The top five teams and low individual not on those teams will advance to next week’s NCAA Championship.

Freshman Carson Young fired an even par 72, one of just five rounds of par or better by the entire field, to lead Clemson to third-place standing after the first round of the NCAA Sugar Grove Regional at Rich Harvest Farms Golf Club in Sugar Grove, Ill.

Clemson University’s 18 athletic programs each exceeded the NCAA baseline Academic Progress Rate thresholds for the 2012-13 year, according to data released by the NCAA today.

McDaniels Makes Trip To NBA Combine

Former Clemson forward K.J. McDaniels is one of 60 players invited to participate in the NBA Draft Combine from Wednesday to Friday this week in Chicago, the league announced. McDaniels declared early last month after putting together a first-team All-ACC junior season. The 2014 NBA Draft is set for Thursday, June 26, at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, N.Y.

Two runs scored on Shane Kennedy’s fielder’s choice and an error on the play in the eighth inning to give Clemson the lead for good in its 7-2 win over Furman at Fluor Field on Tuesday night.

Five Former Tigers Taken in NFL Draft

Bashaud Breeland, Martavis Bryant and Tajh Boyd were all selected in the 2014 NFL Draft on Saturday afternoon in New York City. The three selections give Clemson five players selected over the three days of the selection process. It marked the sixth straight year that Clemson had at least four players selected, the longest streak by an ACC school since a 10-year streak by Florida State from 1992-2001.

Clemson Evens Series With Notre Dame

Daniel Gossett pitched a four-hit shutout in No. 24 Clemson’s 8-0 victory over Notre Dame at Frank Eck Stadium on Saturday afternoon. The Tigers (31-20, 13-12 ACC) evened the series against the Fighting Irish (18-31, 5-21 ACC) and picked up their first-ever win over Notre Dame.

Clemson's Boyd Drafted by Jets

Clemson quarterback Tajh Boyd was taken with the last of the Jets' three compensatory picks in the sixth round. While Geno Smith and Michael Vick will compete for the starting job this summer, Boyd will likely go up against Matt Simms for the No. 3 spot.

Clemson's Bryant Drafted by Steelers

The Steelers took 6-foot-4 Martavis Bryant of Clemson in the fourth round of the NFL draft on Saturday, giving the 6-5 Roethlisberger the big red zone target the team has long coveted.

Clemson's Thomas Drafted by 49ers

SID) — Former Clemson All-ACC offensive tackle Brandon Thomas was chosen in the third round of the NFL draft by the San Francisco 49ers late Friday evening. He was the 100th selection of the draft overall. Thomas joined Sammy Watkins as Clemson players taken in the top 100 picks. Watkins was the number-four selection of the draft by the Buffalo Bills on Thursday evening.

Fighting Irish Top Clemson 2-1 Friday

Junior righthander Pat Connaughton pitched 8.0 effective innings to lead Notre Dame to a 2-1 win over No. 24 Clemson at Frank Eck Stadium on Friday night. The Fighting Irish (18-30, 5-20 ACC) took a 1-0 lead in the series and snapped the five game-winning streak by the Tigers (30-20, 12-12 ACC).

Clemson Squeezes Out 1-0 Win Over High Point

Four righthanders combined to toss a four-hit shutout in No. 24 Clemson’s 1-0 win over High Point at Doug Kingsmore Stadium on Wednesday night. It was the first meeting between the two schools since 2008, as the Tigers (30-19) improved to 10-0 all-time against the Panthers (25-19). Clemson, who won its fifth game in a row, also reached the 30-win mark for the 40th consecutive season.

Clemson Football Honored For APR Score

The Clemson football program was honored Wednesday when the NCAA released its Academic Performance Public Recognition Awards. Dabo Swinney’s Tigers rank among the top 10 percent of all FBS programs nationally in APR score (Academic Progress Rate), the fourth-consecutive year the program has had a top 10 percent ranking.

San Fran Shooter Transfers To Clemson

Avry Holmes, a 6-2 guard for the University of San Francisco the past two seasons, has signed an aid agreement to transfer to Clemson. Head Coach Brad Brownell made the announcement Monday. Per NCAA rules, Holmes is required to sit out the 2014-15 season but has two seasons of eligibility remaining, beginning in 2015-16.

Clemson Golf Heads To Illinois Regional

The Tigers received a bid to the NCAA Men’s Golf Tournament for the 33rd consecutive year on Monday. Clemson is one of 14 teams competing at the Illinois Regional (Sugar Grove, Ill.) at Rich Harvest Farms. It is one of six regional sites across the country held May 15-17.

Tigers Top UNLV 6-2 Sunday

Steve Wilkerson’s solo homer in the sixth inning broke a 1-1 tie and the senior added a two-run single in the seventh inning as Clemson defeated UNLV 6-2 Sunday afternoon at Fluor Field. The Tigers (28-19) took a 1-0 lead in the two-game series against the Rebels (29-17) in the first meeting between the two schools since 2001.

Sophomore lefthander Zack Erwin tossed a six-hit shutout to lead Clemson to an 8-0 victory over James Madison at Doug Kingsmore Stadium on Friday night. The Tigers (26-19) took a 1-0 lead in the two-game series against the Dukes (15-27).
