Clemson Squeezes Out 1-0 Win Over High Point

Four righthanders combined to toss a four-hit shutout in No. 24 Clemson’s 1-0 win over High Point at Doug Kingsmore Stadium on Wednesday night. It was the first meeting between the two schools since 2008, as the Tigers (30-19) improved to 10-0 all-time against the Panthers (25-19). Clemson, who won its fifth game in a row, also reached the 30-win mark for the 40th consecutive season.

Clemson Football Honored For APR Score

The Clemson football program was honored Wednesday when the NCAA released its Academic Performance Public Recognition Awards. Dabo Swinney’s Tigers rank among the top 10 percent of all FBS programs nationally in APR score (Academic Progress Rate), the fourth-consecutive year the program has had a top 10 percent ranking.

San Fran Shooter Transfers To Clemson

Avry Holmes, a 6-2 guard for the University of San Francisco the past two seasons, has signed an aid agreement to transfer to Clemson. Head Coach Brad Brownell made the announcement Monday. Per NCAA rules, Holmes is required to sit out the 2014-15 season but has two seasons of eligibility remaining, beginning in 2015-16.

Clemson Golf Heads To Illinois Regional

The Tigers received a bid to the NCAA Men’s Golf Tournament for the 33rd consecutive year on Monday. Clemson is one of 14 teams competing at the Illinois Regional (Sugar Grove, Ill.) at Rich Harvest Farms. It is one of six regional sites across the country held May 15-17.

Tigers Top UNLV 6-2 Sunday

Steve Wilkerson’s solo homer in the sixth inning broke a 1-1 tie and the senior added a two-run single in the seventh inning as Clemson defeated UNLV 6-2 Sunday afternoon at Fluor Field. The Tigers (28-19) took a 1-0 lead in the two-game series against the Rebels (29-17) in the first meeting between the two schools since 2001.

Sophomore lefthander Zack Erwin tossed a six-hit shutout to lead Clemson to an 8-0 victory over James Madison at Doug Kingsmore Stadium on Friday night. The Tigers (26-19) took a 1-0 lead in the two-game series against the Dukes (15-27).

Former Irmo QB Olson Transfers To Clemson

Former Irmo High School quarterback David Olson is coming back to South Carolina to play for his favorite team. The Stanford graduate is transferring to Clemson and will be immediately eligible to play his senior season. Olson did not attempt a single pass in his career as a back-up quarterback with the Cardinal.

Munson To Do Clemson Football Play-By-Play

Clemson Athletics today announced changes to the responsibilities of its radio broadcast talent. Don Munson, who currently serves as play-by-play voice of Clemson’s baseball program and has been a part of the Clemson radio network for the last 16 years, will add football play-by-play to his assignments.

Martin Sets 2-Day Record In New Orleans

Former Clemson standout Ben Martin shot a 5-under 67 on Friday to maintain a course-record pace at TPC Louisiana, keeping him atop the leaderboard through two rounds of the Zurich Classic.

Tigers 3rd After ACC Tourney 1st Round

Sophomore Miller Capps fired an opening round 69 on Friday to lead Clemson to a 289 team score and a third-place standing after the first round of the ACC Men’s Golf Tournament at the Old North State Club in New London, N.C. The event will continue Saturday morning with the second round. The tournament concludes on Sunday at the par 72 course.

Stoudt Ready For New Starting QB Role

Cole Stoudt did not grow antsy or angry during his three years as backup to Clemson record-setting quarterback Tajh Boyd. After all, Stoudt had a strong model of patience at home in his father Cliff, a former Pittsburgh Steelers passer stuck behind NFL great Terry Bradshaw.

Former Clemson All-American Ben Martin fired a career best 10-under-par 62 on Thursday and has a two-shot lead after the first round of the Zurich Classic of New Orleans on the PGA Tour. Andrew Svoboda is second after an opening round 64.

Gamecocks Handle USC Upstate 6-1

A four-run fifth inning helped lift eighth-ranked South Carolina to a 6-1 win over USC Upstate on Wednesday night in non-conference action at Carolina Stadium. The Gamecocks improve to 32-10 on the year while the loss drops the Spartans to 14-30.

Clemson Clocks W. Carolina 11-3

Sophomore lefthander Zack Erwin struck out a career-high 13 batters to lead No. 20 Clemson to an 11-3 victory over Western Carolina at Doug Kingsmore Stadium on Wednesday night. The Tigers (25-16) split the home-and-home season series with the Catamounts (26-13), who defeated Clemson in Cullowhee on March 4.

McDaniels Ready To Fulfill NBA Dreams

K.J. McDaniels says he's dreamed about the NBA since first touching a basketball as a child. The Clemson forward says it's time to take that step following his junior season, when he led the team in scoring, rebounding, blocks, steals and three-point goals made.
