Clemson Gets Ready For Italy

The Clemson men's basketball team will embark on a tour of Italy on Thursday, Aug. 8 that will last through Sunday, Aug. 18. The Tigers will stay in four different cities and play four games against various clubs and all-star teams from Italy. Clemson's 10-day tour will be coordinated by Basketball Travelers, Inc.

Clemson head football coach Dabo Swinney doesn't believe college athletes should be paid. "I am against professionalizing college athletics. We have that, it's called the NFL, arena league, CFL. To me, college athletics are a privilege." said Swinney.

ESPN To Preview Gamecocks And Tigers

South Carolina and Clemson will be featured on ESPN's College Football Live series of preseason preview shows. Clemson’s season preview will air on Tuesday, Aug. 6 on ESPNU at 5 p.m. ET. South Carolina's season preview will air on Wednesday, Aug. 7 on ESPNU at 5 p.m. ET.

NFL Suspends Former Tiger For PEDs

Former Clemson Tiger and current Washington Redskins defensive end Jarvis Jenkins has been suspended for four games without pay for violating the NFL's policy on performance enhancing substances.

The Carolina Panthers have released former Clemson Tiger and Camden native Thomas Austin. Austin was a two-time All-ACC selection at Clemson, but has had a tough NFL career. He has been picked up by four different NFL teams, but has never seen the field.

Hopkins Inks Deal With Texans

The Houston Texans reached a contract agreement Monday with former Clemson wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins. According to reports, his contract is worth $7.62 million, with the first three years guaranteed. Hopkins also reportedly gets a signing bonus of $3.92 million.

Boyd Picked Preseason ACC POY

Clemson quarterback Tajh Boyd was picked as the Atlantic Coast Conference preseason player of the year Monday. Boyd received 105 of the 120 total votes from media members at the ACC Football Kickoff in Greensboro, North Carolina. The second place finisher, Duke Johnson of Miami, had only four votes.

Former Tiger Miller Named AL POW

Former Tiger and current Major League rookie Brad Miller was named American League Player-of-the-Week, announced on Monday. In three games on the week, all after a four-day break for the All-Star Game, Miller was 5-for-13 (.385) with two homers, seven RBIs, four runs, and three walks in leading the Seattle Mariners to a three-game sweep at Houston.

Clemson Picked To Win ACC

Clemson has been picked by the ACC media to win the conference in 2013. The Tigers picked up 95 votes during ACC Media Days in Greensboro, North Carolina.

Clemson's Boyd Not Scared Of Clowney

Clemson quarterback Tajh Boyd knew the questions were coming when he started making the rounds Sunday at ACC Media Days. Boyd was asked multiple times to respond to Jadeveon Clowney.

Swinney's Ladies Clinic Draws Record Crowd

Clemson's Miller Homers Twice In Seattle Win

Former Clemson Tiger Brad Miller hit his first two major league homers and drove in five runs to help Seattle overcome Houston Friday. Former Gamecock Justin Smoak also hit a home run in Seattle's 10-7 win.

Boyd And Watkins On Walter Camp Watch List

Tajh Boyd and Sammy Watkins are both on the Walter Camp Player of the Year Watch List for 2013. Boyd has also been listed on the watch list for the Maxwell Award and for the Davey O’Brien Award. Watkins has also been on the list for the Maxwell and the Biletnikoff Awards.

Boyd Named To Davey O’Brien Watch List

Clemson quarterback Tajh Boyd has been named one of 34 quarterbacks on the 2013 Davey O’Brien Watch List. Boyd has been one of 16 semifinalists for the award each of the last two years.

Two Tigers Make Biletnikoff List

Clemson wide receivers Sammy Watkins and Charone Peake have been named to the 2013 Biletnikoff Watch List. Watkins and Peake are two of 10 ACC receivers on the list. Clemson is the only ACC school with two representatives.
