Catanzaro Makes Groza Award Watch List

Clemson graduate kicker Chandler Catanzaro has been named one of 30 kickers from around the nation to the Lou Groza Watch List for 2013. The Groza Award is named after Hall of Fame Kicker Lou Groza, who played 21 years in the NFL for the Cleveland Browns.

Tiger Trio Makes Watch Lists

Tajh Boyd and Sammy Watkins were named to the Maxwell Award Watch List, while Vic Beasley was named to the Bednarik Award Watch List on Monday. The Maxwell Award is presented each year to the Most Outstanding Player in college football, while the Bednarik goes to the top defensive player.

Clemson Sells Out Kickoff Ticket Package

The Clemson Athletic Ticket Office has announced the kickoff package, including Georgia and South Carolina State, is now sold out. A limited number of full season tickets, including all seven home games, are still available for $330 each to both IPTAY members and the general public. Season tickets may be purchased online at ClemsonTigers.com or by calling 1-800-CLEMSON. All single game tickets, excluding Georgia, will go on sale to the general public on Wednesday, July 10 at 8:00am.

Watkins Named To 2013 Paul Hornung Award Watch List

Clemson wide receiver Sammy Watkins has been named to the 2013 Paul Hornung Award Watch List, as announced by the Louisville Sports Commission on Friday. Watkins is one of 44 players named to the preseason list.

Smith Adds Three To Clemson Women’s Basketball Program

Head women’s basketball coach Audra Smith announced the addition of three players to her roster for the 2013-14 season. Abrea Harris, Sade Chatman and Paige Mosley are enrolled in the second summer session on campus and participating in preseason workouts.

5 Tigers Make All-ACC Academic Baseball Team

Clemson placed five players on the 2013 All-ACC Academic baseball team, released on Monday. The five selections tied for second-most in the ACC behind Florida State, who had six selections. To be eligible for consideration, a student-athlete must have earned a 3.0 GPA for the previous semester and maintained a 3.0 cumulative GPA during his academic career.

Former Tiger Takes Long Jump Crown

Former Clemson standout George Kitchens continued the momentum he built from the 2012 season which saw him earn a spot in the London Olympics on Sunday by winning the USA Championship in the men’s long jump on Sunday in Des Moines, IA. His victory was the first USA Outdoor crown for a former Clemson men’s track & field athlete since Shawn Crawford captured the 200 dash at the 2009 meet.
