Clemson Athletics Director Named To NCAA Committee

Clemson Director of Athletics Dan Radakovich has been named to an Athletic Director Advisory Group to the NCAA leadership by NCAA President Mark Emmert. Radakovich, who is in his first year at Clemson, was one of 10 named to the committee. This ad hoc group will meet periodically with NCAA leadership to provide feedback and perspective on issues affecting Division I athletics.

Howard's Rock Vandalized

Howard's Rock, the iconic fixture Clemson players rub prior to running down the hill during the football team's entrance into Memorial Stadium, was vandalized sometime June 2 or June 3. A small portion of The Rock was broken off of its pedestal after vandals broke the casing that protects the artifact.

Rollins Earns National Track Honor

Clemson redshirt junior Brianna Rollins has been named National Women's Track Athlete of the Year for the 2013 outdoor season, the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced Wednesday. Arizona high jumper Brigetta Barrett was named the organization's National Women's Field Athlete of the Year.

South Carolina head swimming and diving coach McGee Moody has been named to the U.S. men’s swimming coaching staff for the 2013 World University Games, USA Swimming announced Tuesday.

Glover & Stanley Ready To Tee Off U.S. Open

Former Clemson All-Americans Lucas Glover and Kyle Stanley will compete in the 113th United States Open at Merion Golf Club in Ardmore, PA this week. It will be the eighth US Open for Glover, more than any other former Clemson golfer, and the fourth for Stanley, who is just 25 years old. The tournament begins Thursday at the par 70 course that is outside Philadelphia, PA.

Rollins Breaks Own Record, Wins National Title

Clemson redshirt junior Brianna Rollins dazzled the Historic Hayward Field crowd for a second time this week as she ran to another collegiate record in the 100 hurdles on Saturday at the NCAA Outdoor Championships. She blew away the field to a time of 12.39, one of the top times in history by an American athlete, to lead Clemson's women to a ninth-place team finish. It was the program's third straight top-10 finish at the NCAA Outdoor Championships.

Rockies Make Firth 19th Round Draft Pick

Senior righthander Scott Firth (Buffalo Grove, IL) was selected in the 19th round of the Major League Draft on Saturday. He was taken with the #559 overall pick by the Colorado Rockies.

Clemson's Rollins Sets 2nd NCAA Track Record

Clemson superstar Brianna Rollins earned her second collegiate record of the 2013 season in Thursday’s 100 hurdles semifinal round at the NCAA Outdoor Championships in Eugene, OR. The Miami, FL native and red-shirt junior rolled to a time of 12.47, eclipsing Ginnie Powell’s record of 12.48 that had stood since 2006. Rollins was one of four Tigers to advance to national finals on day two, including three in the high hurdles alone.

Clemson Knows ACC Opponents Through 2024

The Atlantic Coast Conference has announced all schools' football rotating crossover opponents through the year 2024. For the foreseeable future, all ACC schools will play an eight-game conference schedule composed of six games against division teams, a permanent crossover division game and a rotating crossover game.

Liberty Upsets Clemson 8-3

Behind a string of 17-straight retired batters by junior right handed pitcher Josh Richardson, Liberty defeated Clemson 8-3 on Friday afternoon in the opening game of the 2013 NCAA Columbia Regional at Carolina Stadium. The win is Liberty’s first NCAA post season victory since 2000 and second all-time.

Gamecocks And Tigers In Columbia Regional

The Columbia Regional will have two familiar teams with the Gamecocks being the top seed as the hosts and in-state rival Clemson receiving the two seed for the regional. The other two seeds go to Liberty, the third seed, and to St. Louis as the four seed. Regional play will begin this Friday, May 31st, with Carolina taking on St. Louis and Clemson playing Liberty. The winner of the Columbia Regional will play the winner of the Chapel Hill Regional in the Super Regional.

Hurricanes Blank Tigers 7-0 in ACC Tournament

Bryan Radziewski and Eric Nedeljkovic combined on a four-hit shutout to lead Miami (FL) to a 7-0 victory over #14 Clemson in the ACC Tournament in front of 3,206 fans at Durham Bulls Athletic Park on Saturday afternoon.

Clemson's Early Season Game Times & TV Networks Announced

Clemson will face UGA on Aug. 31 at 8PM on ABC. They will face SC State on Sept. 7 at 12:30PM on RSN. The Tigers will have two Thursday night games on ESPN, including NC State on Sept. 19 at 7:30PM and Georgia Tech on Nov. 14 at 7:30PM.

Clemson Drops ACC Tourney Opener To NC State

The #9 N.C. State Wolfpack broke a 2-2 tie with four runs in the seventh inning and held on for a 6-3 win over #14 Clemson in the ACC Tournament in front of 4,834 fans at Durham Bulls Athletic Park on Wednesday night. The Wolfpack, who moved to 1-0 in the ACC Tournament, improved to 43-13 on the season. The Tigers, who fell to 0-1 in the ACC Tourney, dropped to 39-18 in 2013.

USC Women's Golf Still 23rd At NCAAs

The South Carolina women's golf team shot a 17-over 305 on Wednesday in the second round of the NCAA Championship at the University of Georgia Golf Course, but team standings were incomplete at the end of the day as two lightning delays kept teams from finishing their rounds.

Boulware Semifinalist For Olson Award

Sophomore catcher Garrett Boulware (Anderson, SC) was one of 46 semifinalists for the Gregg Olson Award, announced by Toolshed Sports on Wednesday. The award honors college baseball's "Breakout Player-of-the-Year" and is named after former Auburn pitcher Gregg Olson, who became one of the top collegiate players in the nation after an initial season filled with only mixed success.

Hopkins Making Early Impact In Houston

Former Clemson standout DeAndre Hopkins has impressed the Houston Texans in early workouts. The Texans took Hopkins in the first round of last April's NFL Draft.
