“If you’re 20 years old, healthy, unvaccinated and you don’t think you need to get vaccinated, you need to think about what you could bring home from college and could give to another family member,” the epidemiologist said.
“Because of these incredibly effective and safe, life-saving vaccines, we don’t have to repeat history.”
Health officials say the national rate of new COVID-19 infections and hospitalizations are declining in the United States. While some experts are making bold predictions about this Delta wave ending by Thanksgiving, others are more cautiously optimistic.

“Both of my kids have been excited since early June to get going. My daughter will be in 1st grade and my son is in pre-K,” Shaw said.
DHEC reports 3,177 new cases of COVID-19 and 19 additional deaths in South Carolina.
“It’s free. It’s convenient. The lines are not like they used to be. You can get in and get out,” McMaster said at a press conference Monday. “Go ahead and make your decision.”
Health experts say more than 80% of Americans live in a county deemed to have “high” or “substantial” COVID-19 transmission. This comes as the Delta variant continues to spread across the country.
