Governor Henry McMaster ordered the flags atop the State Capitol be lowered to half-staff on June 15 in tribute to Specialist Jayson Reed Haven of the SC National Guard.

Governor Henry McMaster has issued an Executive to reconvene the General Assembly for an extra legislative session to take up several issues.
According to Governor McMaster, South Carolina’s travel and tourism industry raked in $29 billion in 2022.
Organized by the South Carolina Commission on Higher Education, the event encourages students who are planning on attending colleges, universities, vocational or training programs, joining the military, or joining the general workforce.
The airport is implementing a new checked bag inspection system, which according to officials allows for a higher capacity of bags to be processed at a faster rate.
DSS State Director Michael Leach says there were over 66,000 reports of child abuse and neglect in South Carolina in 2022.
“The essence of the strength of our state is represented here today by these men we honor and memorialize,” said Gov. Henry McMaster.
“So before the General Assembly goes home in May, they need to pass bond reform and they need to see that we slam that revolving door, and have graduated penalties for committing these crimes with these illegal guns,” says Governor McMaster.
“I like to remind people that blood is a very precious asset that we have, and whether you want to give blood or give plasma. It’s easy to do. The people know how to do it. Giving blood takes no time at all,” says McMaster.
