A safe place to stay is available for people experiencing homelessness as inclement weather from Tropical Storm Debby continues.
“I was so glad to take that key, and open up that pod, and go right in there. It felt safe, it was like home. And from that point on, my next move was to have my key to this place,” says Green.
The Richland County Neighborhood Council (RCNC) is partnering with Midlands nonprofit All Kind for a sleeping bag drive to benefit the County’s homeless population.

Rapid Shelter Columbia, the community being built for people experiencing homelessness, is set to open November 1st. Officials from the City of Columbia gave progress updates earlier today on the pod community, located downtown on Calhoun Street.
