CDC: At least three cases of monkeypox in the U.S.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says there are at least three patients in the U.S. with monkeypox.
The World Health Organization says nearly 200 cases of monkeypox have been reported in more than 20 countries not usually known to have outbreaks of the unusual disease, but described the epidemic as “containable” and proposed creating a stockpile to equitably share the limited vaccines and drugs available worldwide.

In health news, Monkeypox could be getting a little closer to home.
Florida, New York and Massachusetts each count one presumptive case of monkeypox. This comes as as one medical group, Global Health, says there are more than 200 cases in 18 countries around the globe.

The CDC is working with Massachusetts health officials to investigate a case of monkeypox. It’s a disease that is popping up in several countries that don’t normally see this type of illness, including here in the U.S.
