RCSD’s J.U.M.P Start Program for wayward youth kicks off in March
Richland County deputies are hosting the J.U.M.P program on March 7, to help wayward kids avoid trouble with the law.
Richland County Sheriff’s Department is currently investigating a deadly shooting incident in the area of Summit Ridge Drive.
According to Sheriff Leon Lott with the Richland County Sheriff’s Department, a plea hearing for 19-year-old Jeremy Taylor will be held on Monday at 9:30 a.m. inside the Richland County Courthouse.
At around 1:10 p.m. on Sunday, deputies say they were dispatched to the 10 block of Cutlers Ct in reference to someone being shot.
The victim told deputies that she attempted to take a picture of the woman who responded with punching her in the face causing a physical altercation to occur between the two of them as well.

“We’ve got a lot of work to do. We’re gonna do our part. We’re gonna continue to do our part every single day. We’re standing here asking the community, and that’s everybody in the community to be a part of the solution. If you’re not, you’re a part of the problem,” says Lott.
Three young men have been arrested in connection with the fatal shooting on Hunt Club Road. 17-year-olds Jeremiah Selph and Corey James, as well as 18-year-old Prince-Jay’lan Hutcherson all face murder charges.
