Some small businesses in our area are getting some free advice. Today at the Richland Two Institute of Innovation, the Richland County office of Small Business Opportunity held its 5th annual Small Business Conference.

More than $2 million in financial support is available for community-based programs and services in Richland County.
Mungo Homes is expanding its corporate headquarters in Richland County, creating 40 new jobs.
According to Richland County’s website, the ordinance makes it unlawful for anyone to use, discharge, shoot, or ignite fireworks or similar explosives within unincorporated Richland County between the hours of 10 p.m. and 7 a.m. However, exceptions are being made for the night of the Fourth of July as well as New Year’s Eve.
The expansion will create 80 new jobs.
Richland County is asking for the public’s input on its operating budget for the upcoming fiscal year.
“Vital intersections in this area have been upgraded particularly at North Main Street and Monticello Road. There are also other improvements from cross walks, and upgraded pedestrian routes to landscaping and street lighting. Overhead utilities have been relocated underground,” says District Eight Chair Overture Walker.
Richland County says employees will soon be spraying for mosquitoes in the coming months.
“We know that Blythewood is one of the top five fastest growing municipalities in South Carolina,” said Richland County District 2 councilman Derrek Pugh.
