Over 5,000 Sumter residents without power, says Duke Energy

SUMTER, SC (WOLO) — According to the Sumter Police Department, the city of Sumter is experiencing a power outage, with crews working to fix the issue. Drivers are asked to use caution and treat intersections as 4-way stops.

As of 2 p.m., over 9,000 residents were without power, according to Duke Energy. As of 3 p.m., over 5,300 remain without power.

There are no details on the cause of the outage.
