RCSD investigating after woman shot in restaurant parking lot

RICHLAND COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– Richland County Sheriff’s Department is investigating a shooting that left one person injured, said deputies.

On Weds, June 10, around 5:45 a.m., deputies responded to McCary’s Restaurant at 851 Bush River Road for reports of shots fired with one individual sustaining a gunshot wound.

Deputies were advised by dispatch that the victim had one gunshot wound to the upper body area and she was driving herself to the hospital.

Columbia Police Department officers was able to locate the victim and her vehicle.

Then Richland County EMS was dispatched to take her to a local hospital for medical treatment.

Upon speaking with the victim, deputies learned that the shooting occurred following an altercation in a parking lot, said RCSD.

The victim was shot while attempting to drive away from the scene.

This is an ongoing investigation.
