Man sentenced for gun, ammo charge
IRMO, S.C. (WOLO)– A Richland County man will spend ten years in prison on a gun and ammunition charge.
Officials with the U.S. Attorney’s Office say on April 25 of 2022, Jacob Lower was involved in an accident in Irmo and assaulted a passerby who stopped to help him.
He also tried to steal a second car before running into the woods.
Irmo Police were ultimately able to arrest him.
During the arrest officials say lower was found with drugs, a pistol, and ammunition.
lower was prohibited from possessing a firearm due to a previous conviction for several charges including burglary and distribution of meth.
officials say lower is not eligible for parole.
