3 people left displaced after Richland Co. fire

RICHLAND COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– CRFD 1st shift crews controlled a fire after finding smoke showing from a duplex property on Thursday afternoon, says the fire dept.

According to the fire dept., they responded to Hawthorne Avenue for a reported fire Thursday afternoon, June 12.

The fire started in the rear of the property and spread into one side of the duplex.

There were also a number of wood pallets stacked around the structure, say fire officials.

Firefighters mounted an offensive attack and were able to contain the fire before it could spread further.

Three people total were left displaced by the incident but no one was injured.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
