RCSD completes officer shooting at bar investigation, sends findings to solicitor’s office

RICHLAND COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– Sheriff Leon Lott says the Richland County Sheriff’s Department has completed the investigation of last month’s fatal shooting at a bar involving a Forest Acres officer.

According to investigators, on May 10, Forest Acres Corporal Daniel Haddad responded to the Relapse Bar and Grill on Two Notch Road where 32-year-old Cody Johnson was driving erratically.

Deputies say Haddad shot Johnson after he ignored the officer’s commands to stop and almost struck other people.

Sheriff Lott says the information and evidence was forwarded to the solicitor’s office to determine if the shooting was justified or not.
