GOP Candidates Forum

(WOLO) COLUMBIA, S.C., One by one GOP Presidential hopefuls took the stage to speak to a room full of media and audience of South Carolina Chamber of Commerce members. While most of the candidates platforms varied, one thing they all agreed on is the need for more jobs, more energy independence and a reform in Washington, DC. Rick Perry says he doesn’t believe in government creating jobs, instead he feels it’s governments job to make the country enticing enough where companies feel comfortable enough to invest so they can crerat employment. To begin making that happen he laid out his plan, including a 20 percent flat tax rate across the board, a change Rick Santorum says would never get support. Santorum says “the key is the ability and the opportunity to rise should be better in America than any place else. It’s not, not anymore.” he says in order to change that, we need to focus on simplifying the tax code, looking closer at regulations, and litigation to level the playing field. With 53 years of experience under his belt, New Gingrich says he is ” the only candidate in the race who understands the the scale of change needed to get the country working again. He says he would start by repealing several bills starting with ObamaCare. Gingrich says the best way to make the country stronger is to turn this into a nation od paychecks instead of food stamps. There are only 3 days left before the South Carolina primaries which take place this Saturday, January 21st.
