Holbrook Receives Contract Extension

The Board of Trustees at the University of South Carolina has approved a two-year contract extension for head baseball coach Chad Holbrook. The contract extension puts Holbrook under contract through the end of the 2019 season.

D'Angelo Leads USC To NCAA Win Over Clemson

South Carolina senior goalkeeper Sabrina D’Angelo delivered two saves in a nail-biting round of PKs to propel the No.3 seeded Gamecocks (13-5-4) past Clemson (13-3-3) and into the second round of the NCAA Tournament. A defensive struggle yielded a 0-0 tie after 110 minutes of play, and South Carolina rose to the challenge in the shootout.

USC Women Set Season Opener Game Time

South Carolina women’s basketball head coach Dawn Staley announced today the start time for her team’s season opener against Southern Cal. The Gamecocks and Trojans are set to open the season on Sat., Nov. 15, at 7 p.m. at Colonial Life Arena in a game to be broadcast by SEC Network +, only on WatchESPN through participating TV providers. The two teams had held off announcing the start time until the kickoff time for the Gamecocks’ football game at Florida had been released (Noon, SEC Network).

Former Gamecock Spencer Lanning makes a living kicking a football. Sunday he was on the receiving end of a kick...to the face. The Cleveland Browns punter was covering his own punt when Pittsburgh return man Antonio Brown tried to hurdle him. Lanning received a foot to the face but helped to bring Brown down. Brown was hit with a 15-yard unnecessary roughness penalty.
