Georgia Blanks Clemson 7-0

Georgia scored four two-out runs in the first inning and cruised to a 7-0 victory over Clemson at Foley Field on Tuesday night. The Bulldogs, who won both games of the home-and-home season series, improved to 21-20. The Tigers, who saw their five-game winning streak end, fell to 22-19.

Tigers Introduce Clemson Will

Today, Director of Athletics Dan Radakovich unveiled Clemson’s commitment to its student-athletes’ welfare through “The Clemson Will,” a series of tenets established for the benefit, development and protection of student-athletes.

Vandy Guard Transfers To Clemson

Shelton Mitchell, a 6-3 guard at Vanderbilt University last season, has signed a financial aid agreement to transfer to Clemson. Head Coach Brad Brownell made the announcement Monday. Per NCAA rules, Mitchell is required to sit out the 2015-16 season but has three seasons of eligibility remaining, beginning in 2016-17.

NeSmith Wins SEC Championship

South Carolina junior Matt NeSmith fired a final-round 67 (-3) on Sunday at Sea Island Golf Club’s Seaside Course to become just the second golfer in program history to win medalist honors at the SEC Championship.

Duke-Clemson Series Finale Rained Out

The Clemson vs. Duke series finale Sunday was rained out and will not be made up. The Tigers won the series 2-0. Clemson returns to action Tuesday when it faces Georgia in Athens at 7 p.m. on SEC Network.

Local Legendary Athletes Attend Tory Dandy Fun Day

On Saturday, former Gamecocks Alshon Jeffery, Bruce Ellington and Mike Davis, including former Clemson wide receiver Sammy Watkins and current Panthers wide receiver Kelvin Benjamin all attended the Tory Dandy Fun Day at Woodruff High School. The event raised money for the ALS Foundation.

USC Wins Fishing National Championship

The University of South Carolina team of Patrick Walters of Summerville, South Carolina, and Gettys Brannon of Columbia, South Carolina, brought a five-bass limit to the scale Saturday weighing 17 pounds, 1 ounce to win the 2015 FLW College Fishing National Championship on Lake Murray.

Clemson Alters Weekend Schedule With Duke

Due to forecasted inclement weather Sunday, the Clemson vs. Duke series at Doug Kingsmore Stadium this weekend has been altered. The two teams are now scheduled to conclude the series with a doubleheader Saturday beginning at 2 p.m., with 45 minutes in between games. Friday's series opener is still scheduled for 6:30 p.m.

Blake Butera’s two-out single in the eighth inning scored Johnny Adams to break a 7-7 tie in Boston College’s 8-7 win over Clemson at Commander Shea Field on Saturday afternoon. The Eagles, who evened the series 1-1, improved to 16-17 overall and 6-10 in the ACC. The Tigers dropped to 17-18 overall and 8-9 in ACC play. Each of Clemson’s last five losses has been by one run.

The Tigers, who took a 1-0 lead in the series, improved to 17-17 overall and 8-8 in the ACC. The Eagles dropped to 15-17 overall and 5-10 in ACC play.

Tigers Gear Up For Spring Game

Wednesday afternoon Clemson held its final full pads practice prior to Saturday’s annual Spring Football Game in Memorial Stadium. The contest that will be the 15th and final spring practice session will start at 2:30 p.m. and admission is free. A flag football game involving former Clemson players, known as the Clemson Sons Bowl, will start at noon.

Charleston Southern Beats Clemson 4-3

Nate Blanchard’s sacrifice fly in the 10th inning lifted Charleston Southern to a 4-3 win over Clemson at Doug Kingsmore Stadium on Wednesday afternoon. The Buccaneers improved to 13-18, while the Tigers fell to 16-17.
