Barry scored the game-winning goal for the Gamecocks in their 1-0 victory over Kentucky on Sunday. That gives her back-to-back game-winning goals and puts her into a tie for the most goals in the SEC through three weeks of action.
Auburn holds a commanding 10-1-1 lead in the all-time series between the two SEC schools, but the teams have not met since the 2014 season, a 42-35 Auburn win on The Plains.

The loss for Carolina snaps a season-opening winning streak of six, dating back to 2013. It also snaps a 12-match unbeaten streak and moves head coach Shelley Smith’s opening day record to 12-4-4.
Featuring in Carolina’s first athletics event in 192 days, the Gamecocks shined on their way to their first season-opening win since 2018.
For the third time in four seasons South Carolina women’s soccer (19-2-3, 7-0-3 SEC) reached the NCAA Tournament quarterfinals in 2019. The Gamecocks were the last standing SEC program in the 64-team tournament.
This will be the first University of South Carolina Athletics event since the March 11th softball game against Winthrop at Carolina Softball Stadium at Beckham Field 192 days ago (as of Saturday).
