Former Gamecock Peter Mooney retires from professional baseball
Mooney started at shortstop for the Gamecocks on the 2011 National Championship team, then was taken in the 21st round of the MLB Draft that summer by the Toronto Blue Jays.

Cam Gaskins joined the ABC Columbia Sports team in August of 2019 as an Anchor/Reporter.
He graduated from the University of Georgia in 2017 with a degree in Digital Broadcast Journalism and a certificate in Sports Media.
He previously worked for WGXA in Macon, GA where he covered everything from the Mercer Bears to the Macon Bacon. He also covered the Georgia Bulldogs in the 2018 SEC Championship Game.
Cam was born and raised in Georgia, and grew up cheering for the Braves and Falcons. Now he’s excited to call the Palmetto State home and cover all the great sports here in the Midlands.
In his free time, Cam loves watching a good movie, hiking, finding a new restaurant, and trying to break 100 on the golf course.
