COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) — South Carolina is barring groups holding events at the Statehouse from obscuring statues and monuments after the NAACP erected a backdrop at a rally that blocked the view of a George Washington statue.

Man Shoots Into Bar After Being Kicked Out

SMYRNA, S.C. (AP) _ York County deputies say they arrested a man who shot into a bar three separate times after he was kicked out and told never to return. Authorities said 57-year-old Myers Duncan of Blacksburg was charged Tuesday with six counts of attempted murder and discharging firearms into a dwelling.

Moonshine Bust

ORANGEBURG, S.C. (AP) _ Orangeburg County deputies say they have arrested three men who operated an illegal still, cranking out up to 100 gallons of moonshine a week. Sheriff Leroy Ravenell said his officers had the still under surveillance for a while and were finally able to catch the men stirring the pot on Tuesday.

ANDERSON, S.C. (AP) _ South Carolina health officials are warning Anderson County residents to stay away from wild animals and not try to keep them as pets after a teen was exposed to rabies by a raccoon. The Department of Health and Environmental Control said Wednesday that the teen boy was bitten by the raccoon when he tried to pick the animal up in the woods and carry it home.

Cops Find Carjacking Teens Asleep in Stolen Car

COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) _ Richland County deputies say they found two carjacking suspects asleep in the car they stole just hours earlier. Investigators said three men approached a man at a gas station around 1 a.m. Saturday asking for a ride. The man said the suspects beat and robbed him after he took them where they wanted to go.
