On Wednesday, the official Clemson Football twitter account posted a photo of the new trophy given to the winner of the Clemson-South Carolina football game.

Clemson is ranked No. 1 in the nation in the College Football Playoff Poll released Tuesday night. It marks the fourth consecutive week that Clemson has been ranked first in the poll that will determine the four teams who will compete in the second College Football Playoff. Clemson is also No. 1 this week by Associated Press and USA Today.

Clemson quarterback Deshaun Watson and tight end Jordan Leggett were both announced as finalists for major college football awards on Tuesday.

Defensive end Shaq Lawson has been named a finalist for another major national award, the Bronko Nagurski Trophy. The Clemson junior was one of five finalists announced Thursday morning by the Charlotte Touchdown Club, who presents the award annually to the nation’s top defensive player. The other finalists are Jeremy Cash of Duke, Tyler Matakevich of Temple, Carl Nassib of Penn State, and Reggie Ragland of Alabama.

The fields for several 2016 men’s basketball tournaments owned and operated by ESPN were announced Thursday. Clemson is one of eight teams headed to San Juan from Nov. 17-20, 2016 for the Puerto Rico Tip-Off.

Local, state and federal law enforcement entities working with Clemson Athletics game operations announced increased and reinforced security measures in place for this weekend’s sporting events.

The Tigers are once again No. 1 in the latest College Football Playoff rankings, released Tuesday evening. Clemson has been atop the rankings each of the three weeks they have been released. The 12-person selection committee determines the four teams that will take part in the second College Football Playoff. The announcement of the pairings will be at 12 p.m. on Sunday, December 6.

Defensive end Shaq Lawson has been named a finalist for the Rotary Lombardi Award. The honor is presented each year by the Rotary Club of Houston, Texas to the top lineman or linebacker in college football.
