SC Native Begins Play in Masters On Thursday

Former Clemson All-American Lucas Glover will begin play in his sixth Masters on Thursday at 12:35 PM off the first tee at Augusta National Golf Club in Augusta, GA. Glover is the only former Tiger in the field. He is in the fourth year of a five year exemption based on his 2009 US Open Championship.

Tigers Defeat Western Carolina 12-9

Jon McGibbon’s run-scoring single in the ninth inning gave #17 Clemson the lead and the Tigers added two more runs in the frame to defeat Western Carolina 12-9 in front of 1,373 fans at Hennon Stadium on Tuesday night.

Clemson Holds Second Spring Scrimmage

Vic Beasley had four quarterback sacks and Grady Jarrett added three to highlight the play of the defense in Clemson’s stadium scrimmage on Monday afternoon. The Tigers are preparing for the annual spring football game this Saturday at 4 PM at Memorial Stadium.

Audra Smith Named Clemson Head Women’s Basketball Coach

Clemson University Director of Athletics Dan Radakovich announced on Monday that Audra Smith has been chosen to lead the Women’s Basketball program. Smith, a 1992 Virginia graduate, has spent the last nine seasons at the helm of the UAB program. She led the Blazers to 57 wins over the last three seasons, the most in any three-year period at UAB in 17 years.

Clemson Sweeps Boston College

Matthew Crownover and Matt Campbell combined to pitch a four-hit shutout in Clemson’s 1-0 victory over Boston College in front of 854 fans at a chilly and windy Commander Shea Field on Sunday afternoon. The Tigers, who swept the series 3-0 and won their fifth game in a row, improved to 21-11 overall and 9-6 in the ACC. The Eagles fell to 5-25 overall and 0-14 in ACC play.

Future Tiger Makes Cut At LPGA Major

Future Clemson women’s golfer Ashlan Ramsey make the cut by three shots at the Kraft Nabisco Championship in Rancho Mirage, CA on Friday afternoon. The native of Milledgeville, GA, who will be one of the leaders of J.T. Horton’s first Clemson women’s golf teams this coming August shot a second round 75 and stands in 42nd place after 36 holes of the first major of the year on the LPGA Tour.

In his second start of the season, junior Joe Costigan totaled a career-high three RBIs when he capped the Tigers’ six-run seventh inning with a three-run double in Clemson’s 7-5 win over Boston College in front of 1,281 fans at Commander Shea Field on Friday afternoon. The Tigers, who took a 1-0 lead in the series, improved to 19-11 overall and 7-6 in the ACC. The Eagles dropped to 5-23 overall and 0-12 in ACC play.

Future Clemson Golfer Tied For 17th After First Round of Kraft Nabisco

Future Clemson golfer Ashlan Ramsey fired a one-under-par 71 on Thursday to rank in 17th place after the first round of the Kraft Nabisco Championship at Mission Hills Country Club at Rancho Mirage, CA. The native of Milledgeville, GA will be a freshman at Clemson next August.

Clemson Baseball Preview vs. Boston College

Clemson (18-11, 6-6 ACC) will travel to Chestnut Hill, MA to take on Boston College (5-22, 0-11 ACC) in a three-game series at Commander Shea Field this weekend. Senior righthander Jonathan Meyer tossed 7.0 strong innings to lead Clemson to a 4-1 win over Gardner-Webb at Doug Kingsmore Stadium on Wednesday night. The Tigers improved to 18-11, while the Bulldogs fell to 15-13-1.

Future Tiger to Compete in her First Major

Ashlan Ramsey, a high school senior who signed a national letter of intent with Clemson last fall, will play in the Kraft Nabisco Championship on the LPGA Tour this April 4-7. It is the first of four Majors on the LPGA Tour. Ramsey attends Milledge Academy in Milledgeville, GA and is ranked among the top women’s amateur players in the nation.

Clemson (17-11) will host Gardner-Webb (15-12-1) on Wednesday at Doug Kingsmore Stadium. First pitch is scheduled for 6:30 PM.
