Gamecocks move Pro Day

The South Carolina football program will hold its annual Pro Timing Day on Tuesday, March 20, when 12 draft-eligible former Gamecock players are slated to work out for NFL coaches and scouts.

Gamecocks face #2 Florida to open SEC play

The University of South Carolina baseball team opens play in the Southeastern Conference as the Gamecocks welcome No. 2 Florida to Founders Park for a weekend series. The series starts on Friday, March 16 at 7 p.m. with Saturday’s game beginning at 4 p.m. Sunday’s series finale will start at 1 p.m. 

Gamecocks schedule games with App State, Troy and Georgia State

The Gamecocks have agreed to a three-game series with Appalachian State University. The Mountaineers will come to Columbia and Williams-Brice Stadium on November 9, 2019, with the Gamecocks making a return trip to Boone, N.C., on September 20, 2025. An additional game is scheduled for Columbia at a date to be determined during the 2027 season.

Wilson named finalist for National Player of the Year

South Carolina senior forward A’ja Wilson has been named a finalist for the 2018 Wade Trophy, the WBCA announced Wednesday. The Hopkins, S.C., native is one of four finalists for the national player of the year honor, joining Oregon’s Sabrina Ionescu, Ohio State’s Kelsey Mitchell and UConn’s Katie Lou Samuelson.

Claflin changing conferences, leaving SIAC for CIAA

After notifying the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) of its decision to exit, Claflin University is pleased to announce that it is joining the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA), commencing July, 1, 2018.

Clemson blanks CSU, 5-0 behind Byrd's three home runs

Junior Grayson Byrd hit his second, third and fourth career home runs in No. 2 Clemson's 5-0 win over Charleston Southern at Doug Kingsmore Stadium on Tuesday night. The Tigers, who won their eighth game in a row and recorded their first shutout of 2018, improved to 16-1, while the Buccaneers fell to 6-12.

White lifts Gamecocks to walk-off win over Texas Tuesday night

Hollywood couldn’t have scripted a better ending as Krystan White blasted her first-career walk-off home run to lift No. 17 South Carolina softball to a 1-0 win over Texas in eight innings Tuesday night at Carolina Softball Stadium at Beckham Field. The victory was Carolina’s first of the season in extra innings and moved the Gamecocks to 22-3 on the year. 

#30 Coastal's come back falls short against UConn

Coastal Carolina spotted Connecticut seven runs in the first inning and was down 11-1 after two-and-a-half innings. The Chanticleers would trim its deficit to two in the seventh inning and had bases loaded in the ninth before falling 12-10 to the Huskies at Springs Brooks Stadium.

Ben Lippen hires new football coach

Ben Lippen is excited to announce the addition of James Reynolds as the new Head Varsity Football Coach. Reynolds will be taking over a solid football program with a winning record. The Falcons made it to the SCISA Class 3A semifinals last season and won the State Championship the previous season.
