Starting tight end Sam Cooper and reserve quarterback Chad Kelly both suffered torn ACL injuries during Clemson’s Spring Football Game this past Saturday. The injuries happened in the first quarter just nine plays apart in the contest at Memorial Stadium. Head Coach Dabo Swinney made the announcement on Monday afternoon.

Clemson University Director of Athletics Dan Radakovich announced on Monday that Audra Smith has been chosen to lead the Women’s Basketball program. Smith, a 1992 Virginia graduate, has spent the last nine seasons at the helm of the UAB program. Future Clemson women’s golfer Ashlan Ramsey make the cut by three shots at the Kraft Nabisco Championship in Rancho Mirage, CA on Friday afternoon. The native of Milledgeville, GA, who will be one of the leaders of J.T. Horton’s first Clemson women’s golf teams this coming August shot a second round 75 and stands in 42nd place after 36 holes of the first major of the year on the LPGA Tour.

Ashlan Ramsey, a high school senior who signed a national letter of intent with Clemson last fall, will play in the Kraft Nabisco Championship on the LPGA Tour this April 4-7. It is the first of four Majors on the LPGA Tour. Ramsey attends Milledge Academy in Milledgeville, GA and is ranked among the top women’s amateur players in the nation.
