A bill banning most abortions in South Carolina is heading to Republican Gov. Henry McMaster’s desk. He’s promised to sign it into law as soon as he can, which is expected to be Thursday.
Democratic members of the South Carolina House have walked out of the chamber to protest a bill that would ban nearly all abortions in the state.

The South Carolina Senate voted Thursday to pass the Fetal Heartbeat Bill with a 30-13 vote.
