In a ranking of the most charitable states, personal finance website WalletHub found South Carolina to be the 19th most giving.
Residents are encouraged to donate canned food items and dry goods for the annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Honor the Dream food drive through December 8.
Collection sites across South Carolina will open from November 13-20 for residents to donate to the Samaritan’s Purse project, Operation Christmas Child.
