SCDC arrests 3 women for trying to smuggle cell phones, drugs, and wire cutters into prisons
COLUMBIA, SC (WOLO) – Three women have been arrested on charges of smuggling contraband into South Carolina prisons on three different occasions. According to South Carolina Department of Corrections arrest affidavits, Yoland Whitaker, Yvanda Maria Hardy, and Carmen Bess Jenkins all face charges of attempting to furnish a prisoner with contraband. Blue Cross Blue Shield to lay off nearly 250 SC employees
FLORENCE, SC (WOLO) – Blue Cross Blue Shield says it’s laying off close to 250 employees. The Charleston Post and Courier reports the layoffs take affect Wednesday (11/7) for those who work at PGBA, a subsidiary of the insurance provider. PGBA has offices in Surfside Beach and Florence.
