COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)– South Carolina Attorney General Alan Wilson has announced that a Camden woman was arrested in connection with stealing from a nursing center resident, said the AG’s Office.

The AG’s Office Vulnerable Adults and Medicaid Provider Fraud unit (VAMPF) arrested 43-year-old Shanna V. Brown for exploitation of a vulnerable adult and breach of trust with fraudulent intent, value $10,000 or more.

A VAMPF investigation found that between May 19, 2023, and October 21, 2024, Brown allegedly misused the funds and assets of a vulnerable adult with fraudulent intent, said the AG’s Office.

As the victim’s power of attorney, Brown is accused of unlawfully converting over $10,000 of the victim’s assets for her own personal use.

The victim who is a vulnerable adult under South Carolina law, resided at White Oak Manor in Columbia at the time of the alleged misconduct.

Brown was booked into the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center on Monday, May 5.
