Irmo celebrates Juneteenth with historical displays

IRMO, S.C. (WOLO)– June 19 is Juneteenth which celebrates the end of slavery in the U.S.

In 2021, Congress passed legislation making June 19th a federal holiday.

Today the African American Historical Society of Irmo held its sixth annual Juneteenth celebration at Moore Park.

The event features music, food, historical displays, and more.
