Alan Wilson files for governor’s race

Columbia, S.C. (WOLO)–Thursday morning, Attorney General Alan Wilson officially filed to run for governor of South Carolina.
Joining him at the election commission office on Lady Street were his choice for lieutenant governor, Senator Mike Reichenbach and his wife Jennifer.

Wilson filled out the necessary paperwork to be included on the governor’s ballot in this June’s primary elections.
He was the first candidate to enter the gubernatorial race last summer.
Wilson was joined by a group of supporters — speaking to the media after he officially filed.
“The Office of Governor does not belong to any one person it belongs to the people of SC and this is a job interview.” said Wilson,  “You can’t buy this job. Right? Some people are gonna try to lie their way into this job but we’re gonna go out there and we’re gonna earn our way into this job, and so the Office of Governor belongs to you the people of SC and i”m gonna work my butt off and Mike is gonna work his butt off to go out there and earn your trust and earn your vote.”

Other Republican candidates in the governor’s race include US Representatives Ralph Norman, Nancy Mace,  Lieutenant Governor Pamela Evette, State Senator Josh Kimbrell, and businessman Rom Reddy.

On the Democratic side, State Representative Jermaine Johnson and Attorney Mullins McLeod
