RCSD investigating early morning weekend shooting

RICHLAND COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– Richland County deputies are investigating an early morning Saturday shooting after someone was shot, say deputies.

According to the sheriff’s dept., deputies were responding in the early morning hours of March 21, 2026, in the 200 block of Gusty Lane around 12:30 a.m.

Deputies responded to the area in reference to a ShotSpotter alert where multiple rounds were fired, says the sheriff’s dept.

Once deputies arrived to the scene, they were met by numerous witnesses, several of which were teens.

While at the scene, deputies were notified of an adult male gunshot victim that was on the way to the hospital with a gunshot wound in the upper body area.

The victim has since been released from the hospital, according to Richland County Sheriff’s Department.
