Juneteenth events in the Midlands

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)– As people gathered to celebrate Juneteenth at events across the U.S., the Midlands is also celebrating the holiday.

If you are looking to celebrate and need events to enjoy for the holiday, check out below.

 

City Of Columbia:

The City of Columbia is holding the Juneteenth Freedom Fest on Saturday, June 20, at Finlay Park from 12 p.m. to 10 p.m.

People can enjoy live entertainment, DJs, speakers, a Youth Empowerment Zone, 80+ vendors, community resources, and activities for the whole family.

 

Edventure Children’s Museum:

People can take their kids and enjoy a Juneteenth celebration at Edventure at 10 a.m. on Friday, June 19, and Saturday, June 20.

 

Gather Cola:

There will be Juneteenth Freedom Celebration from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. at Gather Cola.

 

City of Orangeburg:

The Orangeburg Heritage Festival is being held on Friday, June 19, from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. in Orangeburg.

The theme of the event is roots, culture, and rhythms, and will be held in downtown Orangeburg.

 

Kershaw County:

On Friday, June 19, there will be a Juneteenth event in Kershaw County for everyone to enjoy.

The event will take place at the Camden City Arena from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.

The Liberty Stage at Camden City Arena will showcase various artists and community leaders offering cultural expressions to celebrate Juneteenth.

There will be hot dogs, fried fish and fries, all of which are free of charge.
