Columbia police say a suspect is in custody after leading officers on a chase and barricading himself inside an apartment. Investigators say the suspect ran into an apartment at the intersection of Lester and Bailey Streets, but has since been taken into custody.
The Sumter County Sheriff’s Office says they are looking for a missing man with a history of mental illness. Deputies say 44-year-old Danny Gibbs Jr. was last seen on April 8, and he has not been taking his medication.
